What to pack in a hospital bag
A hospital bag does not need to be a suitcase. It needs a few pieces you can find in the dark. This is the list we give parents — short on purpose.
For the baby
- Two or three soft cotton rompers in newborn or 0–3 months
- A light wrap or receiving cloth
- A pair of mittens if the hospital is cold at night
- One spare nappy set, already opened
Leave the matching “going home” outfit until you know the weather that morning. Pretty little things can wait in a small pouch, not at the bottom of a stuffed bag.
For you
Easy clothes, a charger, snacks you actually like, and the papers the hospital asked for. If someone is gifting, a wrapped romper from Mumzy Kids travels better than a large toy.
